Warranty Policy

Compressors are guaranteed against manufacturing defects for a period of 1 Year from the purchase date unless otherwise noted. Specials usually carry a 6 month warranty.

No Compressor will be accepted for warranty claim unless the receiver-drier, accumulator, orifice tube or VIR was replaced when the compressor was installed. Clutches are guaranteed to be free from defects upon arrival and carry no warranty as it is an electrical part and can be damaged by an untrained professional.

The A/C System must be professionally flushed by an ASE Certified Technician including the condenser. The parts must also be professionally installed by an ASE certified Technician as not everyone is qualified to properly install a/c system parts. No burnt clutches will be accepted for warranty claims. Receiver-driers and Accumulators are guaranteed against leaks and desiccant rattle only. These warranties are for PARTS ONLY. There are no labor, refrigerant, nor freight warranties.

The original receipt must accompany all returned products. Compressor Warranty Void If compressors not installed in accordance with instructions by an ASE Certified Technician and / or methods as set forth in the AIRCO warranty policy and installation requirements.

Our sole obligation, under this warranty, shall be to repair or replace any defective product that is returned to us. Warranty requests must have a RMA issued by AIRCO prior to return. Damage caused by installation, abuse or use not intended for the product will void the warranty. For parts NOT found defective, a notice of inspection/findings will be sent to purchaser and the return of the part will be at the purchaser's expense. Chrome plating is not covered by the warranty as it is a custom job. The Compressor itself is covered by the factory warranty. AIRCO will not accept or pay any labor charges associated with the replacement of parts under warranty. Warranty parts must be returned to AIRCO, freight pre-paid. AIRCO will ship back warranty parts via UPS ground, freight pre-paid by customer. AIRCO does not authorize any person, representative, company or organization other than AIRCO management to assume for it any other liability in connection with the sale, use or shipment of our product. AIRCO shall be, in no event, liable for damages beyond the price paid by the customer for such defective product and shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages whatsoever.

OUR WARRANTY SHALL NOT APPLY TO:
Any product or part, which has been subjected to misuse, negligence or accident. AIRCO shall not be responsible for any special or consequential damages and the warranty as set forth is in lieu of all other warranties, either expressed or implied. AIRCO makes no warranty of merchantability in respect to any products for any particular purpose other than that stated in our catalogue and by the manufacturer.

It is the responsibility of every AIRCO Distributor / Dealer to correctly install AIRCO units in accordance with factory-furnished instructions. It is also their responsibility to have complete sets of service information and be properly trained so they can handle service complaints and warranty problems, as well as recognizing parts, ordering parts and returning defective parts qualified under warranty.

Warranty returns are subject to inspection in our factory prior to acceptance and approval. Warranty returns will not be accepted on any compressor unless these parts are replaced and the A/C system is serviced as follows:

Replace accumulator/receiver drier.

Replace orifice tube or check expansion valve for contamination.

The A/C system must be flushed and an inline filter must be installed. Flushing must include condenser and evaporator.

IMPORTANT - Compressors contaminated with black oil or any foreign material will not be warranted. "Sign of improper flushing"

When replacing a Ford built FX15 or FS10 compressor that has suffered a catastrophic failure, the condenser must be flushed or replaced. If the discharge hose assembly is equipped with a muffler, the hose assembly Must be replaced.

The proper amount and type of lubricant for the system must be added. After installation, rotate the compressor shaft to ensure no liquid remains in the cylinders. This will lubricate all internal compressor components.

Charge the system with the proper amount and type refrigerant( R12 or R134A only).

The following steps are highly recommended to ensure effective operation and performance.

Check operation of engine-driven fan clutch or electric radiator and condenser fan motor. Check operation of clutch cycling switch or relay and all safety switches. Check for proper operation of cooling system. Check the external condition of the condenser (bent fins, road debris and leaks). Check all drive belts and pulleys for alignment and wear. Inspect Schrader valves and sealing caps. If retrofitting, install proper retrofit fittings. Inspect all hoses and fittings for leaks and repair as necessary. Evacuate system to 29.5 in. HG for 1 hour. The system must hold the vacuum before charging. After charging the system, leak test and performance test the system.
